Firstly, I like the idea of an extremely devout and erudite man. It's neat that a man of God would become an astrophysicist and then an astronaut. He almost relishes in the juxtaposition, until his two faiths actually begin to clash... dealing with one's own faith is a classic story too. This one reads like a diary— you almost want to believe in his God when you read through his anguish. To be honest there is a twist at the end that took me a second to absorb, but that might be because I am not really an astute reader.
