I am well aware I left the blog and asked you all to watch it while I went for a smoke. And then I did a million other things instead. Let me tell you about some of my favorite days of this blissfully short month.
Two days ago my friends and I were camped out in the parking lot for almost an hour. Earlier in the day, we promised we'd show up to some student-led affair and ultimately headed to Taco Bell without minding the time. The student leader in question was in her car when we came back, in a spot that has a panopticon-view of the lower lot. Unfortunately, the three of us have Ed, Edd, and Eddy silhouettes so I am sure she saw us sneak by anyway.
It was the first day of sun after a ruthless snowstorm. During a four-hour break we have before Contracts, Christopher and I ate lunch in his car. The sun poured onto the dashboard and kept our fast food warm. We went to the mall and got an $18 game card. We danced 9 songs on DDR and came back to school with ice cream and sweat on our foreheads. When we bring ice cream to class, we don't get cold called.
I've moved like a billion times since I was sixteen and have met even more people. A few weeks ago I think the highest number of my separate friend groups hung out. My oldest friends only date back to 2017. I used to be quite sad about that, but time marches onward. Now I simply have eight-year friendships now. They wanted to see me while Zoe was in town. They have only seen me when I was sixteen and woefully "gay in theory," and I had to reassure Zoe that I have real-life friends. In DC everyone I knew were random photographers, local musicians, and people I met at the movies. When she'd met those friends, my own friendships with them were still budding. I am always running back to the cocoon, melting into soup, rearranging parts, before being reborn again. I suppose what's neat is that I've drawn up a chart of all these people who I think would get along with the other. The only thing stopping them is space and time. Maybe I'll find it and post it. Anyway, she found them lovely, and they said things about me like, "Hey Andrea thanks for saving my cat from the tree last Tuesday," in order for me to seem cool in front of her.
Posting 3 to midnight! Happy March. Will write more soon.
Love you,
Andrea
